Recovery Console Password - how to disable check

Sometimes you can't use the Windows XP Recovery Console because it will ask for Administrator password and not recognize your correct password. This registry edit causes the Recovery Console not to ask for a password. This works for both XP Home and XP Professional.

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Setup \ RecoveryConsole

Set the DWORD SecurityLevel value to 1

beta release for Windows 7

I uploaded beta release of RegmagiK that has enhanced delete function, based on feedback from Floyd Hoover. You can try it. You still need to run as administrator to get access to some keys. I plan to remove extra message boxes displayed during deletion of key that requires elevated privileges soon.

How to blog via url

How to blog via url: So, if your login account has more than one blog you will see a drop down list of all blogs available to your account. Also there is a Logout link. I wonder if the message body (this text) is preserved when I click Logout (so that I can login as a different account and publish it to a different blog) ... - YES! it does (although I logged in with the same account, but I did log out and the text I typed in was not lost). Good work, someone!

So, next question, how do I pre-select a blog via url?

another title

this post is created inside blogger gadget for specific blog id

Labels:

How to blog via url

How to blog via url: "I blogged about regmagik"

How to blog via url

How to blog via url: "to blog via url"
The base URL is
http://www.blogger.com/blog-this.g

a form will be displayed to enter Title of the post and edit post content.
a Google account / login is required to actually post to the blog.

You can pass the following parameters:
Post Title(n=...), Body(t=...) and URL(u=...) for link back to the source. The url must be a valid url (including schema, like http://regmagik.com/...)

use plus sign + instead of spaces.

Here is a sample URL with parameters:
http://www.blogger.com/blog-this.g?u=http://regmagik.com&n=How+to+blog+via+url&t=I+blogged+about+regmagik

But how does it know what blog to post it to? It never asked me to choose a blog. Perhaps it is somehow linked to my account? Here is another URL that includes blogID:

http://www.blogger.com/post-create.g?blogID=9633914

The Christmas is almost here

I received an e-mail from Google saying that they are donating money to selected charities as a gift to all. So I am considering release of a freeware version of RegmagiK. What features will be in the freeware version? Search, navigation to Windows Explorer, desktop bookmarks and more. Some features will be reserved for professional edition that will not be free: probably address bar, permissions editing and drag and drop of registry keys.

Registry editing features will be disabled by default, but can be unlocked for free. This should make RegmagiK safe for use by even beginner users.

RegmagiK Tip of the day

This thread is for [Tip of the day] kind of help. For example:

Alt+D is a keyboard shortcut to set focus to Address Bar. Not very
intuitive, but compatible with Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers.

If you have a tip on using RegmagiK PYCHOSMAE (post your comments here, or send me an email)

Translator notes

Comments in this thread should help translators to avoid common pitfalls while translating resources for RegmagiK. For example:

ampersand before letter: &File means keyboard accelerator.

1. when possible use the first capital letter. If this letter is taken in the same menu group or in the same dialog, try to
be creative. If not sure do not use &. They are optional.

For example "i" in A&ide is selected. It reminds me of 'Information'. May be it would be better to use 'Information' instead of 'Aide'?

2. Ctrl + should not be translated in any menu. Same for Shift + Ctrl +

RegmagiK Registry Editor problems

REGEDIT Bookmarks do not work in RegmagiK on some systems. This problem was reported by two users and is my highest priority to fix. If you have details about this or any other problem with RegmagiK please, PYCHOSMAE (post your comments here, or send me an email)
